African startups raised only $50 million in March 2025, the lowest monthly total since late 2020. Funding in March represents an 82.7% decrease from the $289 million raised in January 2025.

The number of $100k+ deals announced in February 2025 fell to 38, the lowest for any February since 2021. The total amount raised in February 2025 was $119m, the lowest for any February since 2019.
Gozem nets $30M to expand vehicle financing, digital banking in Francophone Africa
Gozem raised $30 million in a Series B funding round, consisting of $15 million in equity and $15 million in debt. The company plans to use the funds to strengthen its vehicle financing service and expand into new markets.
